Bachelor theses

Allocation

The bachelor's theses are assigned via a central assignment system of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Please note the information and in particular the deadlines on the faculty's website.

Topic finding

To find a topic for the bachelor thesis, there are the following possibilities:

    • You are interested in a specific topic that can be assigned to the field of business mathematics and data science. In this case, you develop your own topic proposal and discuss it with us.
    • If you can't find your own topic, you can get inspiration from the publications or the overview of topics covered in the past. We will then work out a precise topic together.
    • In principle, the replication of a publication or partial aspects of it is also suitable as a bachelor thesis. Various journals offer data repositories that can be helpful. A (partial) overview can be found on Replication-Wiki.

    Formalia

    • The processing time is two months.
    • The bachelor thesis can be written in German or English.
    • For the production we recommend the scientific text typesetting program Latex. All the software required for this is freely available.

    • The scope of the work is 7500-8500 words, i.e. approx. 20 pages of text. There are also graphics, a bibliography, etc. The total volume should not exceed 40 pages.
