Content
The event introduces basic mathematical knowledge for students studying economics at the University of Hohenheim. The focus is on linear algebra, differential and integral calculus, and optimization.
The following content is a central part of the event:
- Basics of linear algebra and arithmetic with matrices
- Linear dependency, determinants, rank, inverse
- Systems of linear equations
- Differentiation of functions of one and several variables
- Elasticity, Taylor expansion, de l’Hospital's rule
- Optimization of functions with and without secondary conditions
- Integration of functions of one and several variables
